Futsal is the official FIFA and UEFA version of indoor 5 a side soccer and indeed the only internationally recognized small-sided game. There are proven benefits to playing Futsal for the technical skill development of young players, with particular emphasis on the skills of passing, dribbling and close control. It is widely viewed as the ideal skill-building environment for producing technically excellent football players.

The KCA program will be led by Joe Macedo and assisted by technical club staff with the clubs philosophy of player development. Joe currently holds a National C license and originates from Portugal where he has seen the development of Portuguese youth players first hand.

The club’s technical staff coach, Bola Avolonto, will lead the Futsal Program. Bola joined the club this past year and has been working with various teams throughout the club. He has recently completed his community level certificates and is working towards completing all coaching education levels. Before being a dedicated coach, Bola spent time as a professional player with the French 1st division club RC Strousberg and Toronto FC Academy. As a former professional, Bola understands the importance of Futsal and what it means to develop technically proficient players while continuously fostering a love for the game.
